inequality between men and women
Throughout the novel we see the dominance that men have over women and the power they hold. There are hints of sexism in the Great Gatsby as the men hold positions of power. Tom has the power in the relationship with Daisy and Myrtle and even goes as far as to punch Myrtle when she doesn't follow his orders.
